Season 7 of the series was originally slated to be the last season of Wentworth, but fans started petitions after news broke the show would be cancelled after the series' 3 Logie wins, in the space of 5 months one petition got over 10,000 signatures and the show was still in limbo. When it was announced the series was renewed for another 2 years through a massive funding package the cast were genuinely surprised at how the fans banded together through their passion and love for the series. The cast were originally disappointed when it was going to be cancelled as they all thought the series had "more story to tell." but rallied together for a rare TV win. See more
They use the term top dog in the series, in Australian criminal world and inside jail being called a dog is an insult saying you are a rat/narc as in the US. (The term "top dog" is used a lot in both England and Australia and it is not an insult at all) See more
