Matt Damon Confirmed to Reprise Dogma Role in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

Matt Damon Confirmed to Reprise Dogma Role in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
Kevin Smith has confirmed who Matt Damon is playing in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and it isn't Matt Damon. The filmmaker has been making all sorts of little reveals about his highly-anticipated sequel ever since (and leading up to) San Diego Comic-Con. His latest reveal is regarding Damon's character and the Good Will Hunting star will be reprising his role as Loki. Not the one from Thor: Ragnarok. Rather, the one he played in Smith's 1999 movie Dogma.

For those who perhaps don't recall, Dogma sees Matt Damon and Ben Affleck playing a pair of fallen angels named Loki and Bartleby. Affleck will be returning in the movie as well. However, he's going to be playing Holden McNeil, who audiences will recognize from Chasing Amy. So, Kevin Smith is revisiting many of his previous works in his follow-up to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Taking to Instagram, Smith posted

Kevin Smith is Writing a New Version of Clerks 3 and Wants Jeff Anderson to Return

Kevin Smith had already written a script for Clerks 3. He announced that he was working on the film back in 2017 and a few weeks before it was scheduled to shoot, the movie fell apart because franchise star Jeff Anderson, who played Randal Graves ended up dropping out.

Last year Smith said the film wouldn’t be happening in the foreseeable future, but it looks like that all changed! Smith has revealed that he is currently writing a new version of Clerks 3 and he’s hoping to convince Jeff Anderson to come back and star in it. After all, he can’t make Clerks 3 without him or co-star Brian O'Halloran.

After he was able to smooth things out with his old friend Ben Affleck, Smith is hoping he can do the same thing with Anderson. He’s hoping that this new version of the script that he’s working on will entice Anderson to return.

We've been waiting for more than a decade for the final entry in the trilogy and Smith is newly determined to make it happen, confirming he's going to write a new script for the long-awaited sequel.

The reveal came during the Q&a portion of the panel, which took place in Hall H at Sdcc. At one point, a fan predictably asked about Clerks 3. Kevin Smith explained that the script he originally wrote is something he's very proud of, but it doesn't accurately represent where he's at creatively in his life right now. Here's what Smith had to say about it.

Jay & Silent Bob Reboot Red Band Trailer: The Boys Return to Destroy Hollywood
The first trailer for Jay & Silent Bob Reboot is here! Good to his word, Kevin Smith assured fans not long ago that he would be bringing the trailer for his latest directorial effort to San Diego Comic-Con this year. Since not all of us could be at the sacred grounds of Hall H to experience the action, he was kind enough to release the Comic-Con trailer online ahead of time, which gives us our first real look at Smith and his longtime collaborate Jason Mewes back as the iconic duo.

It's been a long time since Kevin Smith decided to revisit his own cinematic universe, known as the View Askewniverse, which he started 25 years ago with Clerks. The last time was more than a decade ago when Clerks II was released back in 2006. This time around, Smith is giving us a sequel to 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,

Supergirl Star Melissa Benoist Is Chronic in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
Supergirl star Melissa Benoist is going from playing one superhero to another, as she's been officially revealed as the new Chronic in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. After many fans had accurately predicted Benoist would be in the role, director Kevin Smith personally unveiled her casting with an image of her on set with himself and Jason Mewes. Recently, Smith challenged fans to guess which actors would play the new Bluntman and Chronic in the upcoming sequel, also revealing that Chronic would be gender-swapped this time. Given his work with Benoist with the DC shows on the CW, it's easy to see why many fans went with Benoist, though the identity of the new Bluntman remains a mystery at this time.

Smith also reveals in the caption of the photo how Melissa Benoist was the first guest star approached to be in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. In fact, she

Jay & Silent Bob Reboot Poster Gives Bluntman & Chronic a Gritty Gender Twist

Jay & Silent Bob Reboot Poster Gives Bluntman & Chronic a Gritty Gender Twist
Kevin Smith has shared a new poster for his upcoming movie Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. Or, to be more specific, he's shared a poster for the movie within his new movie, a reboot of the Bluntman and Chronic franchise. In this case, the reboot within the filmmaker's sequel comes with something of a twist, as the character of Chronic has been gender-swapped and is now being played by a female actress.

The image was shared by Kevin Smith on Instagram ahead of San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, where he'll debut the first trailer for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The Clerks director previously made it clear that this movie will be a commentary on the current reboot-heavy nature of Hollywood. It's now clear he's going to tackle the gender-swapping trope, which has become increasingly popular. It's also very important to point out that this image is very clearly meant to

First Trailer for 'Madness in the Method' Film Directed by Jason Mewes

"Once you read the book, you can't unread it!" Cinedigm has unveiled the first official trailer for the film Madness in the Method, an autobiographical feature film starring and directed by Jason Mewes (aka Jay Mewes) - the actor best known as "Jay" from Kevin Smith's filmography. This stars Jason as himself, Jay, and is about his attempt at trying method acting in order to gain more respect for himself in Hollywood outside of his "Jay" role he's most known for. He discovers a secret method acting book, but slowly descends into madness. Kevin Smith also co-stars, and the full cast includes Gina Carano, Jaime Camil, Vinnie Jones, Danny Trejo, Mickey Gooch Jr., Brian O'Halloran, Teri Hatcher, as well as a brief cameo by Stan Lee (his very last!). The looks kooky and potentially fun, an amusing mockery of that Hollywood life. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for

We're going to get our first proper look at Jay and Silent Bob Reboot in just a few weeks, as the trailer for Kevin Smith's latest is set to make its debut at San Diego Comic-Con. Jay & Silent Bob Reboot Will Feature a Stan Lee Tribute

Jay & Silent Bob Reboot Will Feature a Stan Lee Tribute
Get some tissues ready, as Kevin Smith will include a tribute to the late Stan Lee in his upcoming movie Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. This will serve as Smith's return to his own cinematic universe, the View Askewniverse, which started with his debut movie Clerks back in the 90s, long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe made interconnectivity all the rage. Smith hasn't dipped into this well in more than a decade, which makes it special for his fans. Now, we know it's going to be special for Marvel fans as well.

Tragically, Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee passed away last year. He and Kevin Smith had worked together several times over the years, with Lee appearing in Mallrats. That particular role was immortalized via Lee's cameo in Captain Marvel. Beyond their professional relationship, the two had developed something of a friendship over the years and Smith was a lifelong fan of comics.

The actress also posted a picture from the set on her social media. Smith had this to say.

Kevin Smith Celebrates Post-Heart Attack Birthday with the Perfect Clerks Joke

Kevin Smith Celebrates Post-Heart Attack Birthday with the Perfect Clerks Joke
Kevin Smith suffered a massive, life-threatening heart attack in February. Fortunately, the filmmaker was one of the lucky ones and made it through, and nobody has had a better sense of humor about the whole thing than he has in the months since. Today, on his first birthday since surviving his heart attack, he proved that once again.

The now 48-year-old Kevin Smith returned to the sight where his career began, right outside the convenience store where he shot Clerks, his 1994 independent feature hit that kicked off his career. It also birthed his famed character Silent Bob, who he is channeling in an Instagram post commemorating his birthday, while also slipping in the perfect joke from his first movie. Here's what he had to say.

"Today, August 2nd, 2018, I am 48 years old. This is me leaning against the wall that changed my life. Speaking of life, I almost didn't make it out alive this year.
