Genius level dialed back for the masses
7 May 2017 | by (London, England) – See all my reviews

I so wanted to like this given the talent involved, but for crying out loud what a complete clunker based on the first episode.

Let's start with the obvious that Rush LOOKS way too old to be playing Einstein in 1922. He looks like he does when he met Marylyn Monroe 40 years later -- apart from not having the white hair.

The dialogue is of the deathless variety. That is: not convincing. At all.

Production values are superb. I'll give it that. And Ron Howard's direction tries to inject pace and brio to the performances.

But my main bone of contention is the German accented English from English language speakers. It's just awful.

Not sure if I can muster up enthusiasm for Ep 2. Or Chapter 2 as they portentously name it.
